50Hertz Netzquartier | Berlin

In August 2016, 50Hertz moved to the new corporate headquarters in Berlin with 650 employees.

The new building, designed in an ecological and sustainable way, comprises 13 above-ground floors as well as one in the underground. The sound-absorbing acoustic slat ceiling spans a total area of approx. 12,000 sqm. The material is suitable for DGNB certification. Due to the large, free cross-section between the ceiling and the bare ceiling, air conditioning, cooling sails and fire protection systems can work in secrecy. The good conductivity of the material supports the function of the cooling sails installed directly above. These are located in the margins of the room above the slat system. The slats are equipped with an absorbent fleece filling the entire profile, and micro-perforated. This way, pleasant acoustics are generated throughout the room. The linear structure impresses by the exact course of the line and gives the rooms a spacious appearance.

The luminaires specifically developed for this ceiling system are ideal for office workplaces. Due to their low installation height, they can run underneath the carrier rail. This simplifies the installation because the carrier rails do not need to be interrupted.
