University of Innsbruck - Ágnes-Heller-Haus

The Ágnes-Heller-Haus at the University of Innsbruck was officially opened in December 2023. The new building consists of two basement floors and five upper floors, with the light-flooded atrium forming the center of the building. The project, realized by Mohr Niklas Architekten, impresses with its successful integration of various functional areas and lecture halls, without neglecting recreational zones and green spaces. Particular attention was also paid to the robustness of the building, using hard-wearing materials that are durable, sustainable and energy-efficient.

Our aluminum slatted ceilings are an excellent match for these building requirements and materials and offer sufficient solutions. Thanks to its low installation height of 85 mm, surface temperature control is also a space-saving and attractive solution that can be easily installed in any room. It also impresses with its high energy efficiency, as it only requires flow temperatures of 28°C for heating and 20°C for cooling, which clearly sets it apart from most commercially available air conditioning ceilings. Two HAUFE products were therefore installed in a section of the building measuring around 4,700 square meters - 3,000 square meters of acoustic lamellas and 1,700 square meters of HAUFE surface temperature control. Due to the fire protection requirements, particularly in public buildings, the acoustic louvres were used in fire protection class A. The slatted ceilings were installed in various areas of the building, including the library, seminar rooms, reading and learning zones and lecture halls with a total of 600 seats for students. Technical installations such as ventilation systems or various lighting solutions were perfectly integrated into the slatted ceiling or installed above it. The color scheme of the slats in Light Bronze and Dark Bronze blends in harmoniously with the architects' design concept.
